Re: Wanted RS4 B7 Saloon - Anything considered
What you want is out there as I've just agreed to buy a saloon local to me which was up for £13500 and the owner in the last month or so has spent £5000 on replacing the DRC components and other bits(drop links etc) with the latest version and more money on other bits. He said this wasn't the first time either as some had been replaced prior. I'd of preferred coil overs but the DRC parts are under 2 years warranty supposedly and I've heard they're hard to beat when working well. Yes it's done 100k but the engines are not a concern on these and this owner has spent money on it during his 4 years.
I wanted an avant to replace my 2013 RRS but now decided to run this too for a bit of fun and I think it's good value. It didn't make sense to spend 18+ on the same car with less miles.

I bought a blue one with 75k on the clock but ended up spending near £5k in the 1st year putting it right.....paid £16.5k for mine..
This was one of the better ones from the 10 odd I viewed.....
You will get what you pay for...

Re: Wanted RS4 B7 Saloon - Anything considered
What was wrong with it and did you have it inspected prior to purchasing?
I'm buying a car that's had decent money spent on it in last month, links, drc, coil packs, plugs and then discs, pads etc a few thousand k ago.
The guys owned it for 4 years and 25k miles. I spoke to the garage who installed the DRC and they know the car and view it as good. We live in the same town so car will be going back there. He doesn't have invoices for a clutch change or changes to the oil cooler or lines so they may or may not have been changed.
I'm sure I'll have to spend a few quid on it(perhaps de-coked)but hopefully not on the dreaded drc or coilovers replacement soon.
Perhaps it depends what you want these cars for? This is a 3rd/4th car for me. I doubt it's as good as my porsche Turbo or as practical as my RRS and if it's better than I think then I've got a bargain.
