I'm actually on Marc's side - I wouldn't want to sell either! Especially after getting it as well track prep'd as that. Looks great! Quit whining and get your arse out on track and enjoy what you built

Cheap fun is what we're after - there will absolutely not be any lap records with me behind the wheel.

To be honest the TT looks ok. Keep an eye out on the Pistonheads classified track car section to.
Clio's always do well. There are quite a few on here that have them as track and race cars. You're going to have fun in anything really. Just need to get out there and enjoy.

Found out some more about the TT- going to view on Friday.
109k miles, FSH, was a well maintained standard car until 2 years ago, had cambelt at 90k miles, new clutch around 80k. Fresh MOT a couple of weeks ago. It's running around 270bhp, and estimated weight is 1200kg. The seller is on the TT forum, so have been able to read through his old threads and he seems to be a diligent owner.
One problem the seller has pointed out is that when hot, it seems to lose power. He had it scanned last weekend and there were error codes for the knock sensor and EGT sensor. The 2 sensors cost £50ish, so no problem there but I'm a little concerned that it could be a more serious issue - anyone have any thoughts?

ask him the fans fire up. I had as3 8L MTM car and there was an issue with the fuse ontop of the battery which meant it over heated and knock sensors pulled power back. its a well known issue on the 8l chassis so might be shared across the TT too

New member here but been reading for a long time (B7 RS4 Avant top of my list for next car).
I have a BMW e46 330ci Clubsport which might fit the bill. It's not track prepped but could be ideal as a start and suits your budget. Let me know if its worth a chat - no worries if not.
