Just ordered a Golf R myself :)

Got a B8.5 S4 at then moment, so a little anxious that I have made the right move.

Got a cracking deal though.

About £2.4k down and £280pcm for 2yrs.

Put the same figures in on vw.co.uk and you get £580pcm.

The lease includes 2yrs road tax also which the pcp would only include 1st year.

Now that is tempting I'm a big fan of golfs,my rs4 is mint n low miles but won't be getting into a b8 but fancy something newer, what's the catch? How come they can do it so cheap compared? I've noticed a lot going for it and not the b8

I've never leased a car but sure could spend the cash from my RS in a jiffy on my house project.

Not sure they are still available that cheap now as so many people have gone for it.

There is no catch.

The Golf R has got a 4/5 or 5/5 in all reviews I've seen.

The only thing I don't like are the seats.
They are pretty crap for a 30k plus motor.
But maybe I have been spoiled with buckets in rs4.
The leather ones will feel more expensive I'm sure :biggrin3:

Got any pics? You'll enjoy the fuel economy. I haven't filled up for two weeks in my S3. The RS 5 was a tank a week.

When we were in convoy to Milbrook I didn't find it too difficult to catch the B7s in my B8 RS 5 when coming off round-a-bouts and I would say my S3 isn't far off my RS 5. Based on this I would say the B7 RS 4 and S3/Golf R are fairly even at legal speeds. Perhaps the RS 4 would begin to pull away at higher speeds (80+).

The s-tronic gearbox plays a big part in this as they are so quick to change gear.

I almost bought a Golf R but the leather and spec of the S3 I bought tipped it for me. Plus it had already lost 7k in depreciation. I really like the new Golf GTI in white so I reckon the R would look great.

One thing I have noticed though is that the boy races really want to try it on, just like they did in my S4. In the RS nobody wanted to try it on but in my S cars they get themselves all wet and want to play. I reckon you'll get the same in a fast Golf.
