Check to ensure that the engine start button just needs a brief 'press' and not a 'press and hold' which, as I found out recently through the knowledgeable members of the forum is indicative of a failed clutch pedal switch. This also affects the cruise control which will not work. Though it is an easy fix, you could use it as a bargaining tool if the above symptoms are present.

Note also, when you turn the ignition key to the on position, you should be able to engage sport button prior to firing the engine.

Cheers...

Thanks Nico. Very useful tip indeed. Currently scanning all possible places to find a car (this being my number one hope as it would be great to keep a car in the community). Still ebay, autotrader, pistonheads all scanned every couple of hours (it's proving quite a distraction really)

Hi, I am selling my '56 Avant in Avus Silver. 58k miles, all the best spec with buckets, sat nav plus, no arm rest, and matching brushed silver trim. I spent ages looking for the right spec when I bought it 2 years ago, and have to say I have loved every single minute of driving (and admiring) her. Very sad sale, and genuine reason due to house move.

Very genuine original car, only mod is Kufatech Fiscon Bluetooth.
Advertised on Autotrader and Pistonheads so far - will hopefully get time to add it to RS246 this weekend.

Hope its of interest,
Galesy.

Hi Galesy,
Thanks, your car looks excellent and exactly what I'm looking for, with the exception of the colour. I do like the Avus silver but really fancy a darker shade for mine. Good luck with the sale though, beautiful car.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of this car;

The description is fairly slim (I have contacted the seller for additional information) and the pictures aren't particularly helpful. It's a funny business buying a second hand car but if I'm honest I don't like to see the type of cars that appear to be in the background of some of the pic's.

Doesn't exactly look like a 47000 mile example does it :(

Looks OK, but the seats look like they've seen more than 47k to me.

And he couldn't be bothered to clean the engine bay....

Yes I'm the same, I also don't like the vehicle registration and that puts me off too. Be patient and the right one will come along, there are plenty of these cars manufactured.

I'm still looking...this one looks very nice and almost perfect with the recent carbon clean and MRC remap (http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... sion%3DANY).
Still it does look a touch pricey perhaps and, for me at least, doesn't have the right seats.
I'd be interested to know if anyone knows this car?

That one is a crazy price! Might just be the pics, but appears to be crying out for a machine polish
