im afraid im gonna have to face the reality that my next car wont be for another 9months

with 12 points to declare (only 6 live on license) any insurance is >£2k, which i cant pay for a weekend car

next July, 6 points will be 5 yrs old and i wont have to declare them, hopefully by that point the B8 RS 4's will be delivered.

I even check for an RS 4 cab, which is relatively cheap to insure, but even then with 12 points Admiral wont insure

So how did it calculate your speed? What was your average? (Have always wondered how they work).
Money can't buy you love, but it can buy you a well sorted racecar

Actually, I'd always wondered if people really did ever get "done" by the SPECS systems.
What's the overspeed threshold and as Sonny says "how do they calculate the average?". If you only pass between 2 sets of cam's, then I guess it's easy enough.
However, say you travelled up the whole of the M1 roadworks.... would it take constant averages and clobber you if you put a single foot wrong OR wait until you've passed the final one on your trip BEFORE calculating ?

eg. If I passed two sets of cams.. one at 50, the next at 60. Then left the motorway. I guess they could claim my average speed was 55MPH
If however, I passed 3 sets of cams.. 2 at 50, the next at 60. The average speed would be 53-ish. They may well let me off.

Jeez, I'm feeling like John Thompson when he played the "University professor" on the Fast Show !

the only thing you need to know about SPECS is they do work, so obey them

not all of them work, and not all of the time, but some of them work, some of the time

bit like russian roulette

so, always obey them (+5mph)

thats why god invented cruise control

and to be fair to me .... in the 4 years that have passed since the first of these offences, i have prob driven 120k+ miles with much of that on SPEC routes .... i've just been fecking unlucky !!
