Oil catch can for TTRS

Post by phenyl85 » Tue Aug 09, 2016 2:48 pm

Dear all,

Recently I fitted an oil catch can on my 2010 Audi TT RS.
Just wanted to share this for anyone interested in also putting a catch can in their car.

This is the Mishimoto Compact baffled oil catch can (bought on e-Bay).

Here you can see all the parts and the brass filter which separates the oil and air, the baffles and the bottom plate which will keep the oil inside the can.

This is the hose of the front cam cover.

After heating that tube a little bit the connectors can be pulled out (this tube costs €275,- from the dealer!).

This is the heat isolated hose going towards the turbo which will be modified.

After loosening two Torx 30 this will come off.

Here the heat isolation is stripped down a bit to heat that connector too, it will also come off with heat

Here you see that connector (21mm outer diameter).

This is the catch can with the drain hose attached to it including a little valve. The bigger hose is the one that also is needed to fit the catch can.

This is to show you where this hose will be placed.

Heat isolation is needed because of the turbo.

Here you can see two screws where the catch can will be attached to with a bracket.

By using the original connectors a hose was attached (oil and gasoline resistant) with a plug inserted.
