RS4 B8 vs TTRS
Had a motorway blast with a B8 RS4 today....they aren't that quick. Had no issues keeping up in my boggo standard TTRS....don't believe the hype and remember there is nothing, nothing better than a B7 RS4
Changing my car in December....the RS4 was pegged as the natural choice but as it doesn't look that different, have the WOW factor and isn't as good as the B7....maybe time for a 911/981 Cayman.

Re: RS4 B8 vs TTRS
I agree, won't be much different until silly speeds, but it's nowhere near as ghay as a TT!
Interesting you feel it's not as good as the B7, whilst I can't comment, many that have moved say it is a step forward.

Re: RS4 B8 vs TTRS
Its a lot lighter. So of course it will keep up...90ps deficit vs. 200kg lighter?? Durrrrrr!!
But above 100 the 8cylinders of the V8 will take you eventually

Enter the bamster
I would much rather have a B8 RS4 against TTRS but can't afford one, and i would have wanted a saloon if there was one.
Yes TTRS is quick, but it would get crushed at 120 by most of the RS range. The B7 RS4 was only getting warmed up at 70, a drop into 3rd and it used to sail well into 3 figures.
I'm not bashing you as i think mine is great, but it is what it is ( small sports car )
For a 5 seat estate, 2 dogs a bike and suitcase, the new RS4 is a proper tourer.
Poor dogs !!!

Re: RS4 B8 vs TTRS
Yes but how often do you get past 120? I'd rather have a motor with low down and mid range grunt, note; not a TT though as I'm not a hairdresser.

Re: RS4 B8 vs TTRS
Perfect combination for me would be the RS5 body with the C63 engine (for the torque and noise).D_K wrote:I'd rather have a V8 with 5 doors and bad boy arches

Shock story
Lighter and forced induction car is quicker than high revving V8 at low speeds.

Re: RS4 B8 vs TTRS
what exactly do you mean by had a motorway blast? did you just chase one on the motorway, or did you have a few drag races against it? The B8 RS4 was tested out on pistonheads and with LC was doing 4.2 to 60 and sub 9.5 to 100 IRRC. thats pretty quick for the size of car.carsarecool wrote:Had a motorway blast with a B8 RS4 today....they aren't that quick. Depends what you were doing in terms of testing performance but I'm not sure you can conclude that its not that fast if you were just following it at speed on the motorway.
