All in all I have done about 20000 miles in these 3 cars and so know them very well.
I won't go on, but I'll give my summary closing thoughts
Good:
Gearbox, simply fantastic
Engine, an Audi legend in the making
Noise, great 5pot sound
Launch control, there is very little in the world this side of a Porka 997 Turbo Service that, on a damp/wet day, can keep up with it on a launch to 80mph
Bad:
Looks, not special enough and basically gay
Ride, single most worst hatred of this car, it's ridiculously harsh and totally ruins the car imo
Brakes, fade too quickly
Handling, understeer everywhere and very numb
Practically, it has none
All in all, I will not miss it one bit an am glad to be getting rid of it
Tbh, I don't really regard it as a 'proper' RS car
I'm picking up a Suzuka RS 3 tomorrow....let's see if that is any better
Looks like my first post, but lost my registration details from before.
I tend to agree with some of your points, but can't with others.
Mainly agree with your Good points, but not convinced with the engine note.
On the bad points.
I never had any issues with the ride and infant felt it more composed than the TTS that seems to struggle on B Roads.
Handling isn't stunning, but not sure it's under steering everywhere. I was too gay to fade the brakes
Is it worth the RS badge, then compared to the plain Jane, even more under steer and aged RS3 then yes. Yes I have driven both and on a couple of occasion mistaken the RS3 for an S-line. I also think the TTRS deserves its badge a bit more than some of its bigger brothers.
Would I buy another one, no but then I've had 4 MK2 TT's so bored with them now.
