My boss is pi*sing me off now.

Not happy with his previous fleet of 3 x B7 RS4's, 2 x R8 V8's, 2 x R8 V10 Spyders & Supercharged Range he has the B8 RS4 Avant on order for delivery in March (1st in the UK "apparently") and a saloon two months later.

Also has an RS5 Cab on it's way in the summer.

What am I doing wrong?

He's the one doing it wrong, why three B7 RS4s? 1x RS 2, 1x B5 RS 4 and a B7 RS 4 would be what I'd do if I had the dosh, and the B7 would be supercharged.

B8 RS 4 on order .... LOL

He's not been let down before Dave.

We'll see. Forgot to mention two S3's and a TTRS and I've only known him 5 years.

I'll keep you posted. He's also is looking at a Suzuka RS6 saloon.

One blew up, a cab and saloon. He still loves the B7.

what happened is that his dealer has taken a deposit, and once the RS 4 is confirmed and the order book opened, he will get the first order from his dealer

that very different to having "ordered" one ...

Excuse my ignorance Gents..... but how much is a "typical deposit" ?
.... and more importantly... is it worth the paper it's written upon ?

and will there be an RS4 B8 saloon? I heard avant only?
Are we still speculating on motor being the same V8 in RS5 or so we think we get the twin turbo 4.0 V8?

The RS4 doesn't get released until the Geneva autoshow in early March. It won't be until May-June that the first customer deliveries will take place and it will be Avant only, no sedan. Also has the same running gear as the RS5 so no idea how he can get March delivery and a sedan that doesn't exist.

He's been informed the saloon will be released 2 months after the Avant.

there may well be a saloon given how successful the B7 was tbh

but its just his dealer giving him the speil

it does make me laugh when people think what the dealers say is gospel ... ok, they find out a little before the public, but not massively .. they are just a franchise, and Sales Exec's are just Sales Execs for a franchise

I understand but he hasn't been let down before with delivery dates and I would have thought that given the amount of cash (not finance) he spends each year he should deserve some kind of loyalty and honesty (from Audi??).

Call me old fashioned BUT I hope it is Avant only, and only 400 come to England and its twin turbo with some feck off arches that would make the ur quattro proud to call it its new baby brother, then maybe I'll restore some of my lost faith with the guys at quattro gmbh. The B7 RS4 was awesome. But now leave common as muck naturally aspirated performance cars to BMW, what a feckin disappointment if the new RS 4 comes with an RS 5 engine.

100% the new RS4 comes with the exact same running gear as in the RS5. No new 4L turbo motor, same 4.2L as in the RS5. It will also sport the same squared looking guards as on the RS5 and not the rounded ones as on the B7 RS4. Thats such a shame i feel as the RS5 looks so understated but that is the direction Audi is going with them.

The orginal team at Quattro that did all the work on the B7 RS4 no longer steers the direction of RS models. Audi have gone the way now with BMW in more mass producing them

I put deposit down in June and expecting second or third quarter of next year so mine will be one of first too! As Dave says, deposit with dealer but interest lodged with Audi uk

RS5 cab is launched first in march not RS4 which is later in the year hence finalised pics of cab have been shown but no official RS4 pics yet.

I've also heard that it will be a wagon only.
