Had the same problem awhile ago, took it garage and said a sensor had packed up, so replaced it. If remember correctly sensor was about £80, but don’t quote me, not been back on since. Hope that helps

That seems OK to me, I just watched a couple of videos on YT, the factory has been a bit parsimonious with the small cable ensemble to the headlight motor, seems to get brittle and doesn't look well routed..typical. wonder if we are talking the same part.

It's a bit of a faff getting the panels and associated plastics off, I'd do it if it was summertime, but in the winter feck that, can you recall the final bill at all ?

Cheers for the reply

Stu

Just look at receipt, sensor was £134.67. Total price was £299.60, but that also included a gearbox adaptation reset at £40. Hope that helps 👍 and his labour rate

I used a sort of unofficial specialist in Morley, Leeds. Company called CM Tuning, he’s on Instagram, but is currently relocating somewhere, don’t know where to though!!
Noticed the mileage on your RS, is it a daily? Thought mine was low mileage on it when I bought, guess not that low!!
See your into bikes

Yea, it's my daily, I must have it roughly 3 months now, 23k on it, now 29k.. I knew I would do a lot bumbling around when I bought it, for that expected new car buzz. Now im back to "normal" mileage.

I really should buy a wee runabout to keep the mileage down on the RS.

I've had bikes all my days. It's my first love, but my car comes a close second..gave up track riding this year, offloaded some nice stuff, and sold my low mileage Trafic, you ?

Was into cars first after passing test, then went on the back of a CBR600fm, and was hooked. Did bike test, passed, bought a gsxr600 dead, then gsxr750k2, swapped this for an Aprilia RSV, part ex that for a KTM RC8. Got back into cars, had a policy pay out so bought my dream car!!
As I drive trucks for a living, it doesn’t get used, so gonna sell her next year and put car into garage, and like you, may get a cheap daily!!

Sounds good, I've been riding (legally) for over 44 years now, and I just can't see myself without one. My mates all have bikes, all in our 50s and none of us are slow riders by any stretch, quite the contrary.

The roads up here are perfectly suited for big bikes, a 7am start on a summer morning gets a clear run on the A82 all the way up to Inverness, Campbeltown, Mallaig or wherever we're headed. We get all our fun somewhere in the 80 to 130mph region, always with a margin factored in.

Jealous mate.... Not with your bikes, but the roads you mention and have access to! Will be up there after easter next year, but always with the family and dogs :)

Been up to Scotland a few times in the truck, roads are so nice up there, and the scenery is out of this world. Makes North Yorkshire feels second class!!

We normally stay near Oban. Had many a family holiday up there when I was a wee'un, being thrown around in the back of my Dad's XR3i. My boys love the tranquillity of a swim in Glen Etive, although it's a bit busier along there these days.

Looking forward to taking the RS up there!
