Warranty Claim / Wear and Tear Check

Hey All,

Hoping that you can help me with a couple of questions. I picked up a 64 plate RS4 in December last year (and am absolutely loving it!) and have just had it in for its first service and MOT. The guys did a health check as part of the service and came up with 3 issues with the suspension:

• OSF lower arm (banana) bush splitting (MOT advise) and leaking oil
  NSF lower arm(TCA)inner bush split (MOT advise)
  NSF lower arm (banana) bush splitting(MOT advise)

When I bought the car I got an RAC Platinum Plus warranty for 1-year and wasn't sure if these would be covered, TBH I presume that they are not as they will come down as "wear and tear" rather than anything else that they would pay to fix. Anyone have any experience of this before I go trawling T&Cs?

And finally I wanted to check how frequently these bushes typically split and if this indeed normal wear and tear. It seems odd / unfortunate that 3 have all gone in the first year of my ownership and that the garage themselves didn't spot or note any of this when doing their inspection before selling me the car.

Depends on your warranty company and usually mileage.

I was pleasantly surprised mine covered bushes but then it has only done 11k miles when I took out the policy with motoreasy.

It is a very heavy car so bushes will take a pounding.

Well I got in touch with the garage and unsusprisingly it's not covered by warranty, oh well!

Next 2 questions...

Do these need replacing often? Noted that it is a very heavy car!

Is this something that requires urgent attention? Or is it something that can wait?

Sounds similar issue to what I had last month

OSF & NSF lower curved arm bush both split & leaking oil

I have Audi mot protection & Audi all component warranty

Car was in for mot at the time & not sure if it was mot fail though

Car is 14 plate & done 26k, had to pay my warranty excess but came in @ £450 to fix

They're telling me £600 for 3 of them so similar ball park.

Just annoying that they've all gone in the 9months I've owned the car!
