Speaker upgrade

Couple of questions guys if you don't mind..
Mine has the basic sound system and its pretty flat, Gavin from Beaver Audio in Glasgow agrees with me, he wasnt keen to get involved in an upgrade citing various technical issues and recommended I speak to another operator who will do it right but I have some reservations..
Has anyone swapped out the in situ speakers and noticed an increase in clarity.
I'm thinking of my home where over the years I've had a mid market amp and done a simple upgrade on the speakers with a fairly dramatic improvement..
The Audi MMI is Dinosaur technology and hardly user friendly I find, the phone in particular.. just curious about a simple speaker swap out.
