Suspension Control System dash light

Post by Scammo1 » Mon Dec 27, 2021 3:06 pm

The amber suspension control system error popped up on my dash whilst going over a particularly uneven road.

Car seems to drive ok.

Has anyone had this fault before or knows what it means?

Will be taking car to specialist as soon as I can to have it read

Thanks

Had this twice.

First was an electrical issue on the rear left shock. Was intermittent. Basically occurred when you switched suspension mode (e.g. dynamic, comfort). When switching the modes the rear left would not adjust in line with the other 3 which would then trigger the light, and the other 3 shocks would reset back to what the rear left was stuck on. Required new shock.

Second time was similar, this time on the rear right. Was told the shock itself had just failed. Again brand new shock required.

So to summarize, could be a number of different issues. Best get it checked.

Thanks. Mine was just a one off. Had everything checked by specialist and given clean bill of health (for now!).

They put it down to the suspension not being able to self level when I switched to comfort due to the condition of the road.
I was doing 15mph in slow traffic on M25 junction 10 where the road has a bump every 5metres or so which you really feel when going slowly. Whole car judders going over it (same in our M5).

Roads in this country are a joke. Even less funny when you pay £585 tax a year like we do!!!
