Hi folks,
Just joined and looking for some help if possible...
Currently have an S4 but looking for a B8 RS4. Seen one from Audi with 41K miles but looks like from the service history the 20,000 mile final front drive gearbox oil was not done. They are doing a major service now (final drive oil, gearbox oil, brake fluid service, dust/pollen filter, spark plugs, pan roof, engine oil) but will the fact that this was missed potentially be a big issue down the line?
many thanks in advance,
Chris

Only if there is a warranty claim regarding the gearbox. They schedule the 20k service for a good reason.
It appears to be a common missed service item.
What is the rest of the history like?

Thanks for the reply.
Rest of the history looks ok - it’s had oil every year or flexi do every 2 years. Just the fact that that 20k final drive seems to have been missed that’s troubling me…
Audi assure me that all though it’s been missed they are putting all to rights now so will be ok.
It’s just if something happens to the gearbox after the 12 m warranty expires…. I’ll likely buy an extended warranty if possible?

I would not let this put you off getting the car if everything else is what you want. Obviously it’s not ideal but if the car drives okay at low and high speed with no odd noises you may assume it’s not damaged.

I would phone the garage that serviced the car and double check directly with them what was done on each service. I have had mine serviced at 3 different main dealers due to changing work locations and ever time I book it in they never seam to know what has been done!
Also buying from Audi as a used approved you get a good warranty and at the end of the year it’s cheaper to renew than buying in for the first time.
