Ghost or Pandora

Evening all

May have already been covered at some point, but has anyone had/got one of the systems mentioned.

Want to fit one to my car but not sure which. Have a friend who has a ghost fitted to his golf and was told to avoid the Bluetooth option as car could still be stolen!!

Any thoughts/comments greatly received, thanks

I have Ghost on mine, works well and just won't go into gear without the code.

I solely use the custom buttons, never even bothered with the phone app as heard it wasn't great.

Being honest i wouldn't have bothered if the insurance company didn't stipulate it but the peace of mind it brings i worth it i'd say.

I also have a Ghost with the alarm and second immoberlize fitted. It works very well and am pleased with it I've had it 2 odd years now with no problems at all.
I'm the same and do not use the app for the same reasons !

I fit vehicle security, on the b8 rs4 the ghost is bullet proof and if fitted correctly and hidden (as it should but unfortunately many installers dont seem to understand this) then it is the best and nost secure option

On my rs4 i run a meta cat 5 with deadlock tracker and immo alongside a ghost 😎

Or just find an alternative insurance company?

I've been looking into this as well and although Ghost has a good rep, don't you think that.pressing buttons to mobilise every time is going to become a PITA? Especially if others also drive the car?

I've heard good things about Meta systems that use a tag/fob instead and also offer remote deadlock etc and other bells and whistles

Agreed, I’ve seen fobs attached to car keys with rubber bands etc or just left in the car!!
It would not work for me. I think companies look for something a bit different but still think a gps tracking device is best providing it’s properly hidden, of course.

Im based close to stansted airport in essex but cover a wide area, with regards to the post above re meta or ghost, it all comes down to personal preference really. The meta cat 5 plus deadlock is a good device i fit lots of them and run them on all of my vehicles, the ghost is good at what it does however some people (myself included) find it a pain in the backside entering the pin every time. Saying that you can add a bluetooth tag to the ghost or use the app on your phone as the tag but if your going to go down the tag route why not go down the meta route and have the added tracking and full Thatcham approval as well.
