Gearbox service

Morning, wondered if anyone has had all areas of gearbox servicing carried out recently at main dealer? i.e front and rear final drives etc. on a B8
I've enquired for a price to have all done for peace of mind. Have been quoted a price of £175 for front final drive and another £245 for what he said covers the gearbox oil and all else.
Doesnt't seem right to me? Too cheap??
Curious as to what others think or have been quoted?

Cheers

Yes, I think you will need to add the 2 other rear end oils to that price.
There was another post that covered all this only recently.
If you are also going by the 6 year date there are a few more bits to add to the list!

I had all oils changed in the driveline last year, it was circa £450 in total for oils and labour at an indi.

There are four parts to the driveline that oil needs changing:

Front final drive
Gearbox
Transfer box
Rear final drive

Cheers both. Waiting on a call back from an independent to see what they quote.
Definitely would seem the main dealer has missed off the rears. Doesn't fill me with confidence!

Yup - that's what I've just paid at Slough Audi. :nodder:

As Rusty Racer says though - the rear diff and centre diff also need doing at 40,000 miles / 6 years. If that's where you're at.

The new one needs full fluid change as none of the driveline has been done as well as DRC.

Don't trust my local stealer so are Slough the recommendation in the South East?

Slough are pretty crap and clueless, Mark who has been there for years is a pain in the ass to deal with. Stay local, nothing to gain IMO.
Ps, Audi do price match with garages in a 10 mile radius

That's so weird, Mark and the team at Slough Audi have looked after me really well (and we've had all of our Audi's serviced there for years - my RS4, RS5, SQ5 and the other half's Q3).

I've used Slough Audi a few times. They were ok, nothing exceptional. I highlighted a possible DRC issue that I wanted looking at before the warranty expired and I felt they fobbed me off saying everything was in serviceable condition and the noise I could hear was the seatbelt.....

I wouldn't say they were bad, just average, but I wouldn't recommend travelling a big distance to use them over another main dealer.

Funny how different service can be!

I may just try Bromley Audi as the parts team have always gone out of their way for me.

Had a call back from main dealer with a corrected quote for all as above... £575.
Not had a call back as of yet from the independent....

Depending on where you are located, I would have a chat to either Fontain Audi: https://www.fontain.co.uk/servicing/ or Mark at MDM Technik https://www.mdmtechnik.co.uk/
Fontain have a good reputation earned over a long period, but I've been talking to Mark at MDM - who owns a B8 RS4 and is going to do all of this stuff on my car.
