380 pretty good price, the pipes are over 200 each. Does anyone know if the shocker at the front comes with pipes? Guy at audi told me they did.
No the pipes are all separate parts , I have a full set & rear shocks (used)

Is there a recommended mileage to change DRC oil?
Don’t think it’s part of the 40k gearbox and diff changes
So Audi believe the oil is a "lifetime" component. It's the specialists who suggest 6yrs or 60k miles, but they also add that few have got to that age / mileage without needing work .... :nodder:

That's helpful MM and explains why Audi never proposed the work to me and when I asked about a pressure test they said to leave well alone unless there is an issue.

I wonder if there is value in getting a specialist to inspect and only pressure test and replace fluids if something is amiss. Mind you for circa £350 you might as well get it done anyway.

What's clear to me is that if / when the DRC goes wrong, a specialist is a much better place to take your car than the main dealers.

My local main dealer is changing DRC oil, repressurizing and checking the system for £275 (see other thread on DRC servicing). Only an Audi master technician is allowed to do it apparently.
I asked the dealer to do it as car is six years old (only 30k miles) but better to be safe. Good thing about getting a dealer to do this is that if it subsequently goes wrong I can try and claim against them.

That's a great price for the DRC fluid change and agree it might give comeback but the real specialists have the same kit and perhaps more experience with the older car issues.. My point is that if the DRC goes wrong Audi seem to want to replace everything rather than fix / replace the broken part. Of course if you have a warranty perhaps that's a good thing!

Still do have warranty but completely agree with you.

Had seized exhaust valve last month and Audi wanted to change both back boxes (which the warranty wouldn’t cover) for £2k. Took it to a specialist who repaired for a tenth of the price!!

So that's where I'm at, using someone who owns a B8 RS4, knows the issues and what to look for. At a reasonable price. So I'm getting it checked and the oil replaced for peace of mind really. I'm also having the whole car given the "once over" for anything worn out / leaking / needs doing ....

Having said that, if my 'stealer was offering to do it for £275 - like I wouldn't hesitate!
