Another dreamer

Would be lucky to get that at half the milage.
Nice car, good spec, had DRC done so should be not much to throw at it in the next few years.

However, thats a £28k sale private tops for me.
Problem is there are dreamers at the top of the market that skew peoples expectations. I am in no rush so will wait till the right deal hits, will no doubt miss some nice cars but the whole deal has to work for me.

the one on Collecting Cars went for £22,500, great condition and history 60K.

WBAC for a 70K car is £21K

The real market is way below what is advertised I just hope people do their research before paying inflated prices.

I just paid 24k for a 70k car.

It has just had £3k spent on DRC, £1k on tyres, £1k on discs and pads and 0.8k on Servicing.

Screen price means nowt really with these cars, the price you pay needs to be fair to you when you understand the cars story.

So that's three B8 RS4s on collecting cars that have sold recently for £22-25k (with fees). Yesterday a 2014 car with 62k and a mid spec (looked like the sport pack but no sunroof, memory seats, heated seats, or B&O hifi) for £22.5k but with their 6% fee that is nearly £24k. With fees another 2014 car with 49k miles went for £25k at the end of Jan. Think both had reasonable service history.

I still think with COVID and fairly wintry weather it is not a great time to sell a sports car. But it does look like the cars have depreciated maybe £4k a year over the last 2 years. I realise it is quite a different car but collecting cars also sold a 2007 B7 RS4 convertible yesterday with 68k miles for just under £18k with fees. So it has me wondering (hoping) that the depreciation curve is going to flatten significantly fairly soon for cars that don't do big miles.....

I hadn't even clocked that.

Maybe this advert is to appease her indoors, "if I put it up way over market it won't sell, I keep it!!"

Nice tactic

Not being very experienced about Collecting Cars, did the cars that sold actually complete, was there a reserve, just because the bid went to £24k or whatever doesn’t mean the seller accepted that bid.

Just a thought.

Ultimately you can price the car at whatever you want as it’s yours. If it doesn’t sell then you know you have priced it incorrectly.
I feel they won’t go much lower than they are, the top may compress down as B9’s will depreciate but B7 aren’t going much lower.

Collecting cars is no reserve auction site so ypu take your chances.

That surprises me. it must be a year thing. I sold mine privately 3 weeks ago (15 plate, 21k miles), WBAC were offering £30K at the time.

A bit risky to me. Do you set the starting price a you min??

Must be mad to me to sell this way. Makes you wonder what state the cars are in and what work is needed.

Same here! Some fetch good prices though.

Guess how confident ypu are to roll the dice and the state of the market for that particular model.

I reckon that’s strong money.
I got 43k for mine. Less than 7000 miles and still had factory warranty.
That was in 2017 though so putting that into perspective, they’ve held their value well.
Think I paid about 59k new. Big discounts available back then.
