I’m replacing the front and rear top mounts, at present all bushes are in good condition and I’ll replace as advised by my mechanic.
When do the V3's go on?

Do you know what the Reyland's weight Fr and rear?

Any pics with the wheels on?

It’s taken a while to get the KW V3’s fitted, along with the 034 Motorsport top mounts, FEBI rear top mounts, 385mm front and 360mm Reyland fully floating discs, Ferodo DS2500 pads, HEL braided lines and RBF600 fluid.

The suspension rides superbly and doesn't in any sense give a bone shaker ride. The photos show the resting level of the suspension, the rear set at the highest possible setting. Even though the front sits higher this is to ensure the sills are level. I haven’t used the brakes in anger yet, but they do feel very firm and stronger than before from the top of the pedal (without being grabby). They’ll be glowing red later tonight as I bed in the pads.

So jealous!

Wow that is low even at the highest setting, have they settled yet?

Can't wait to hear more on the brakes, my pads are 4 and 3mm so have to be done soon but Discs may give me a few more weeks, thankfully as the sunroof is leaking and Warranty Wise are fighting the claim could be a £2k bill!

Yes, the suspension has had a chance to settle (I didn’t notice any great change). I put on around 250 miles before I had the 4 wheel alignment done.

I’m back now from bedding in the brakes, once I had finished the process I had to stop at the nearest petrol station for a coffee, I was feeling really light headed after how strong the brakes were repeatedly stopping me!!

I did 2 bedding sessions, building from 40mph to 10mph stops up to 70mph (ish!) to 10mph stops, continuing until I felt the pads fade on the first session. I then took it on a long drive to cool everything down. During this 1st session i couldn’t really get close to activating the ABS (not that I wanted to).

The second session was very different, same speed ranges but there was a noticeable improvement in braking performance compared to the 1st session and I had to pay a lot more care not to activate the ABS. The braking power available at my right foot is phenomenal.

With regards to your sunroof, have you identified the leak? One possible problem could be as simple as blocked drainage ducts.

I've scoured the internet over recent days and tabulated all options that I could find and have listed them, with part number, price and hyperlinked source on the attached PDF (Front discs on Page 1, Rear discs on Page 2, Pads and hoses on Page 3).

If there are any errors please let me know, if I've missed a product then please provide a link and if there is more cost-effective source for any product then let me know and I'll update accordingly.
Great job and I’m in the market for new rotors as well, possibly considering Girodiscs. Anybody with experiences on those?

Another brake pad part number for you

Pagid Yellow RS29 - "PAGID Fast Road and Race Brake Pads E2931". Direct fit to OEM Front Calipers.

One of the best pads on the market, expensive but also relentless even on heavy cars. Highly recommended on E9x M3's etc. Occasionally a bit squeally at low speed but mines aren't bad at all, dusty but so were OEM. Don't get brake fade on the road any more like OEM did.

Running mine with OEM Discs

Matthew.lewis2, what’s your verdict on the Reyland brake disc upgrade now that your a month or so in with the new brakes. Thinking about taking the plunge with Reyland but would be interested in any intel on performance etc?

All I can say is that if bedding in the Reylands made me feel ill because the stopped so hard then I’m happy.

Without hesitation I’ll be buying Reyland and DS2500’s for as long as this car lasts.

I am looking at the same set up disc wise to what you have fitted.

My only concern with the 380mm front disc is will they still clear with 19" wheels?

I run winter tyres and wheels and they are the standard fit Audi winter wheel/tyre package.

How much clearance is there between the calliper and wheel? If you could do a close up picture of the calliper that would be great.

I'd say that they would catch on the 19's (remember that Reyland would be able to provide standard size discs if you wanted). I drive to Austria most years for our family ski trip, i stayed on my 20" wheel and bought winter tyres in this size. It's now time for new summer tyres and its been a pain to get the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, my tyre Shop ended up importing them from Europe.

Thanks for the reply. I have been speaking to Reyland and I may have to go for the standard size. They asked me to measure the id of the 19" wheel which I have done and I will pass that on and see what they say on Monday. It was 420mm at the smallest point over a balance weight. That does allow a few mm of clearance. I may take a wheel off and measure it myself to check.

The dealer had a struggle getting me a set of 4 MPS4s late last year after I got a split in one of the ones fitted. So it sounds like supply hasn't got any better.

Basic question - do we only need 2 pads per disc for the front? My Zimmermann front discs are arriving today :).

4 pads per caliper for the front, 2pads per caliper at the rear.

Perfect, thank you, I had a feeling that was the case. Will get some ordered. My friend is fitting them for me to help keep cost down. Take it there's nothing else special required? Found a decent thread on here showing images of a change. :)

Just popped the discs out of the box to have a quick check of them. Looks a good product to me and they have exactly the same minimum thickness stamping on the outer edge. There's even a little leaflet int he box confirming they are a replacement for the Audi wavys haha.

Emailed a few of the companies regarding pads. Some of them state "full car set", which I would assume means 8 (4 per calliper). However normally pads are sold in pairs. Will see what they say.
