Hi all new on here and new RS4 owner .
Got a 2014 rs4 got in May this year with 38000 miles on it , not done many more since then around a 1000 ( mostly in the first few weeks I had it ) . Got in the other day and it came up with 17days or 8675 miles to service, when I went into it in the car menu says oil change service in 17days and inspection service in 294 days . What’s the difference please ? Also I was able to opener her up a few days later and it now says service due in 21 days so it’s gone up ????
I know am due a big service as before I bought it a did my research and at 40000 miles there’s a few oil changes needed on finale drive, rear drive etc . So is this that service or the inspection service and why would my service days till due go up .

Oil service is dependant on oil condition and driving style. So they can be out of synch with the physical inspection service. The latter where they check your car over, check fluids, change air filters, pollen, sparks if needed etc.

At 40k you will need a full major service with all the various diff oils and crucially the s-tronic oil and plugs. Make sure it’s done on time.

Based on your driving the service indicator can change a bit here or there.
