MPG- expected it to be low but...

According to the car I averaged 19mpg in 200 miles of normal driving- I.e around town, no motorways or ‘spirited’ excursions.

Is that normal?
Official figure is 26mpg, although I think that’s probably too optimistic.

Sounds about right for slowish, urban driving.

I'd say about right. The official figure can be thrown out of the window.

I did about 18k in mine and averaged about 21mpg

Normal.
It is a lot better on a motorway run though.

Been doing a lot of short journeys on the last tank, saying 176.3 miles since fill-up....30 to go!

It won't make the 30 for sure so say 190 off a tank 18mpg.

I made my bed and I love getting in it :-)

I have seen 31mpg on a long motorway run at 70 ish.

Round town the urban figure is what you should compare, not the combined spec. 19 mpg is actually the urban spec. So yours is fine.

26 is the combined which is including a longer run etc.

Thanks guys. Just wanted reassurance this is normal.

Might as well drive it the way it’s meant to be driven now! 😎

Not anymore! 😎

Have done about 30miles of proper driving and got 17mpg for the trip- only 2mpg worse so can conclude that these cars really are meant to be driven as God intended!!
