Best Fuel?

What do you guys think is the best fuel for the RS4, Shell V Power or Tesco Momentum?
Think both are 99RON.
Tesco fuel is cheaper but I heard Shell cleans the direct injection system better and goes some way to prevent coking

Both much of a muchness. Tesco is more consistent in quality I’ve heard from tuners.
Tesco is said to avail 99 Ron spec by adding ethanol and is consistent, whereas Shell isn’t and also often sold via franchises which aren’t.

Slightly off topic and I'm not an expert but as I understand it a higher RON is not automatically a good thing, therefore I would not assume 99 RON is superior to other super unleaded brands with slightly lower RON values.
Also have heard that bio ethanol which govts are pushing for more of can be bad for some engines.
When I purchased my used approved rs4 from Audi they filled it up with regular unleaded and whilst I've always used super since I don't think I could tell the difference. That said I think the additives BP and Shell (maybe others as well) use in super unleaded are good for the engine. Even then you might only need two tanks for the additives to do their thing once every so often.

I don't have an RS4 but both my cars (one turbo one not) are "optimised" to run on 99RON bthough are happy to use 95 if I can't find it.
For many years I used Shell V-Power but for some time now mostly Tesco Momentum (definitely cheaper!) and I honestly can't tell the difference in performance.
But I do notice that if I have to put regular 95RON in they both have less power and worse mpg. Overall Momentum is "free".
I've even trained SWMBO to put 99 in without complaint if she fills up. Result.

I've always been V Power but interesting to read recommendations for Tesco

I can’t tell a difference between the two but have only used a couple of tanks of each so far.
Curious as to whether there is a need for the additives in Shell which are meant to be good for the engine and help justify the higher price

I doubt we will ever know. Unless we do a long term comparison

Doesn’t take long to get through a tank full!
I’ll stick to V power thanks
