New RS4 Noggy owner - few questions..

Post by Flyer » Wed Aug 05, 2020 6:18 pm

Hello all, just acquired a 2015 RS4 Nogaro Edition with Akrapovic exhaust, my first Audi!

Hoping for some advice:
1. Car drifts to the left and on a straight road you have to apply a little right lock on the steering wheel. Read about this on the forum and found a wheel alignment garage with Hunter but they recommended I take it to the Audi dealer "As it`s a RS4 I would recommend that you take this to Audi as will almost certainly be specialist tools to adjust the settings" - has anyone heard this before? Also heard some stories that some Audi garages are a bit clueless - anyone had experience with Audi in Guildford? Garage where I bought it are going to cover the cost.
2. Going to get reversing camera fitted and looking at Ash at Audi Retrofits, as recommended on this forum. Has anyone done the Apple Car play integration?
3. Car had gteckniq applied 2 years ago - guarantee does transfer over. Any recommendation on whether/when this needs topping up and also any particular polish that works well with it?

Many thanks!

Now:
RS4 B8 Nogaro Edition 2015
Lotus Elan +2S 1973

Gone but not forgotten:
Porsche Cayman GTS 2016
Aston Martin Rapide 2010
Aston Martin DB9 2009
Aston Martin DB6 1968 (why did I sell her!)
Porsche 928 S2 1984

When I bought my RS4 in 2015 when it was 3 months old, the steering wheel was slightly off centre when travelling straight ahead. The car didn't pull, just the wheel spokes were not quite straight. I complained to the supplying dealer but they were less than helpful. There are topics on here about this as others have had the same problem. I ended up living with it for a while although it annoyed the t*ts off me.
A good while after, a stone hit the windscreen which cracked it, needing a new one.
I asked that Audi fit the new screen, and as it was being paid for by my insurance, they agreed to do a full 4 wheel alignment whilst they had the car to get the wheel straight, but with the alignment and new screen, the systems such as lane departure all needed recalibrating.
Audi did a great job; the steering wheel is now straight and all systems work as they should.
Everyone has their own opinions about specific dealerships based on their experiences; I have been a customer of my local Audi garage for 12 years now, and I have always found them to be very helpful, especially when warranty or goodwill work has been carried out. I have taken out the Audi extended warranty for it because of the good service I received (hoping of course, I won't need it....!)

Flyer, did you retro fit a reverting camera at Audi Retrofits?

Thinking of doing the same on the wife’s Q5 and wondered what you thought of it/then if you went ahead
