So suspension setup been great, have noticed a bit of rubbing on horrible road surfaces, have ignored them, until over the space of 3 weeks but inside front walls on my tyres have split..

I’m running 285 30. 20 Mich Pilot SS.

As you can see I don’t have aftermarket alloys, which did originally come with same tyre size?

Just looking on black Circles & it’s saying I should be running 265..

Do you think, that since I’ve upgraded the suspension, which has lowered the car, this is causing the inside tyre walls to fail!?

Starting to get expensive now Image

Yh if you’re running OE alloys the tyres should be 265’s. You could probably get away with 285’s with an alloy with a lower inset etc. But I’d just run 265’s, with possibly 10mm spacers if you want a wider track

I’m pretty sure I’m running ADV10 M.V2
SL SERIES, they came with the car, I don’t have any spacers with these, they for straight onto hub...

I need to work out if I can run 265’s not sure what to look for as yet

OE 20”s should be 9Jx20 ET26 with 265/30ZR20

See if you can find the size and offset for your wheels.

Then.... I use this site a lot https://www.willtheyfit.com/ if they are different.

But if your wheels are OE size and offset and you run OE tyres, I can’t see how lowering the car should cause rubbing. The Max travel has remained the same, the wheels are just sat in the arches more at rest position.

I’m running 285 tyres, which is what came with the car,

agree looking around it’s says standard tyre size is 265... maybe lower has caused it to rub or something..

Will whip tyre off around lunchtime & post up what I find

I would say it was a combo of larger tyre and lowering with potential added width of wheel too.

If you can find the width and offset of the wheels that will help.

But I am pretty confident the oversized tyres are the key issue.

Cant find wheel detail, anywhere on the bloody wheel Image,

I don’t think it’s tyre width that’s a the issue now.. I can’t see any signs of rubbing either... maybe poor previous alignment??... any ideas as not sure what to do next, just get another tyre & see what happens?Image

I will be keeping the DRC on mine as I will keep the warranty going. Like to keep the car standard. Each to the own I suppose as I can see how people could get fed up paying out on the DRC every so often, depending on mileage, age etc if they could get another system that will last the life of the car.
I'm with the above school of thought. I keep my car standard in every respect , so I will be sticking with the DRC. The original front shocks were replaced under warranty by Audi, but since the manufacturers 5 year warranty expired, and the car is now nearing its 6th birthday, I will be renewing the Audi All Component warranty for the 2nd year. £680 pa is a relatively small price to pay for peace of mind, with the thought that if the DRC or any other component is problematic, the cost will be covered by the warranty.
Relative to the price many are paying out in changing their vehicles suspension from original, all the headaches, problems and high cost in getting it right, for me sticking with the DRC (which Audi paid their engineers huge sums of money to design a sysyem which fundamentally is a tremendous system) is without question the more logical and cheaper option. Extended warranty, peace of mind and the original DRC resulting in a good night's sleep.
I know this may go against the grain for some, but why would you want to mess around with a superb suspension system?
Sorry.....

I would like to extend my Audi warranty. For that kind of money, it would be well worth it for sure, knowing the DRC bills some have had on here. Unfortunately the country where I reside, my lovely local dealership do not offer this past the 5 year warranty period. My car is a 2014 model, just about to hit 100k KM so I’m looking at the DRC replacement options with a lot of interest as I know my wallet will be hit soon!!

Hey,

My DRC just went and was also looking at the KW’s, looking at your pics I was wondering if you dropped the full 30/25mm and if so would you say 10mm spacers would be possible without having any rubbing issues? I’ve looked all over this forum but can’t seem to find a definitive answer, thanks.

I'm lucky in that I've got two Audi specialists near me, but Mark at MDM Technik actually has a B8 RS4 which he's had for 5 years and so he's pretty knowledgeable about the DRC and he's kept it on his car.
I'm also intending to keep the system, so I'm going to book my car in with him for a check (looking for leaks and corroded or ageing pipes) and then have the system drained, vacuumed, pressure tested and refilled. All for less than £350 inc VAT. :)

Of course my list for him extends to a myriad of other things too. :boots:
RS4 B8 - Sepang Blue, Black Leather, Aluminium Pack, 20" V-Spokes.

I’ve actually just fitted some stiffer rear springs due to sagging at the rear which have worked a treat plus fitted H&R anti roll bars that make it a different car , I’m not sure how low it is but from arch to wheel centre is 35cm all round which looks a good stance for me & clears speed bumps fine etc , a pal of mine has just spent £2300 on the front with DRC issues, it’s good when it works but I’m really happy the way I’ve gone now

Thanks for that, I’ve got a bit to think about regarding which way I go, gutted really coz I loved being able to switch between cruiser and all out animal but as we all know, DRC is very problematic and expensive when it inevitably goes wrong! I’m hearing a lot about guys using Koni shocks with H&R’s so really don’t know which way to go, did you have to change any other parts due to the drop? Sorry for all the questions just really don’t wanna mess up the cars handling🤯
