Standard exhaust part number

Post by TaylorRS6 » Tue Jun 30, 2020 10:56 am

hi so bmw sold me an rs4 (took in part ex). They claimed a sports exhaust but I don't think it has. I've come from an e92 m3 which sounded the nuts! The rs4 seem rather quiet compared..

I've got underneath and got the part number of the rear section 8T0.253.611

It does get more deep once set to dynamic on the mmi but don't really think it gets any louder really.. I've looked at buying a sports exhaust and the seller gave me this part number: 8T0.253.611 B.. now it has a 'B' after it so I'm going to assume that mine doesn't have the sports exhaust?

Could any give me hand with this as I will be arguing with the dealer as I feel if it hasn't got the sports exhaust I have basically been miss sold.

Thanks

You haven't told us what age, model etc,the newer models have black tail pipes on the sports exhaust, silver on standard

Have you heard your car from the outside when it's pulling away, you may be surprised how loud it is.
My car is really quiet on the inside but to the outside its really loud

Would probably help your case if you got clarification from Audi themselves

Thanks mate! Car is in with audi in the morning so will get them to confirm aswell. The exhaust on it atm sounds so quiet. No bark at all and now you've also confirmed the 'B' I'm very much sure it doesn't have the sports exhaust!

Thanks for getting the photo

No problem.
Compared to BMW and Mercs, Audis are quieter in general even with the sports exhaust,
still, id want the sports exhaust for that bit more noise than standard!

Hope it gets rectified

So I've bought a sports exhaust with x pipe mod.. so hopefully will sort the lack of noise!

Thanks for the replying!

Compared to my B7, from inside the cabin, the B8 only seems to growl from the exhaust when you give it some beans or at the higher end of the rev range. The B7 I had was generally the same throughout the rev range and had a distinctive note / whine throughout the revs (which I quite liked!).
I must say I never use Dynamic in the B8 due to the horrendous boyracer artificial throttle blipping noises it produces.
However, perhaps an excuse for you to use the right pedal more....
