B7 to b8 is it worth it?
Currently own a b7 rs4 saloon and wondering if it’s worth the jump to a b8? Obviously I can imagine they’re a much nicer place to be but wondering if performance wise it’s actually worth it or if the extra money should go towards other stuff like possible s/c.
Re: B7 to b8 is it worth it?
The B8 is step up tech wise and the gear box is excellent
great noise very capable RS but you feel the weight when pushing hard into corners
but point to point i wold say the B7 is a better car more involved better in the corners just feels more planted than the B8 when pushing on
ive had all the RS4's from the B5 to the currant B9
and my preference in order would be B9 B5 B7 B8
they are all great RS cars an do what the other manufactures cant a fast 4x4 estate car but Mercedes is now catching on with there AMG estates coming with 4 wheel drive
if i had my time again i would probably jump the B8 and go for the B9 but that might not be possible as its a of money to be spending on a car in the currant situation we all find our selves
if it was me and the B9 was out of my reach i would spend my money on getting the B7 sorted
1 the engine cleaned the head flow ported
2 performance filter / cold air induction
3 gearbox serviced and diff oil changed
4 suspension either changed if its DRC repair is too costly or checked and repaired if its still on DRC
5 ecu remap
6 interior re upholstered exterior paint sorted
im sure there will be others praising the B8 and i did enjoy my time with it but i didn't love it as i did the B5, B7 and B9

I think that’s what I wanted to hear thank you
I’d love to move to a b9 in the future. Maybe when they’ve lost another 15/20k

I get this challenge.
I went from a C5 RS6 to the B8, which is night & day in terms of refinements tech driving & sounds (got a aftermarket exhaust)...
The thing I miss is the ability to tune it, no turbos makes it very expensive to achieve not
Much gain imho, I can see where the B5 & B9 would make more sense.. SC would be amazing, but again the cost for that is very high, would it be better to put pennies into something else
