Exhuast Vacuum Connector

Toying with the idea of leaving my exhuast flaps permanently open by plugging out the vacuum connector. Have anyone done that? Is there any possible downside to it?

Not done it myself but if I remember correctly the only downside is if its not properly plugged it can throw up a vacuum leak!
