Just test drove a B8 Rs4

Post by Frasbo » Sun Feb 02, 2020 4:19 pm

Hi guys, new member here. first post.

Ive been after a B8 for a while. I test drove 1 today and it felt great.

It wasnt an Audi dealership tho, ive asked Audi if I can extend the cars warranty as its out of warranty at the moment and they said as long as it has been serviced at audi dealerships then yes ? Is this correct ?

The car has done 50k miles. is a 2014 model

the service history is 11/01/2016 - 12,657 oil change service

16/08/2016 - Inspection Service - 17,455

20/03/2018 - Inspection Service - 32,577

so it has done 18K miles since its last service.

i cant get any more details until i call Audi servicing tomorrow.

My Question is how much does it cost to Extend the warranty ??

You should be able to get a quote on Audi’s website with Reg and mileage.

Thank you so much for that, that helps.

£1351 for all component cover.
£958 for named component cover.

Do they inspect the car when you take out the warranty?

I have just taken out the All Component Cover on my B8 following the expiry of its 5 years Manufacturers Extended Warranty. If there has been a break between the Audi 3 year manufacturers warranty, or the 5 year 90k Manufacturers Extended Warranty, then the Premium will be higher in the first year you take it out. The following years premium is then likely to be half the previous years premium.
If you look back in previous topics about a month ago, I asked re Extended Warranties and then posted the results of my findings regarding the Extended Warranty relevant to my car.
They did not request a vehicle examination to take it out.
But my Audi dealer stated I should keep up the Audi Service History so that any subsequent claim is considered in a more favourable light.

I asked a similar question and received this from the Ext Warranty people :

Thank you for your email.

Yes you can purchase a warranty, the vehicle does not have to be serviced at an Audi dealership. As long as genuine parts are used, you can have the vehicle serviced at any garage.

Please also retain any invoices and receipts.

Kind Regards,

I can’t help but notice it’s only had one oil change in its 6 years/50k Miles, that can’t be good for these engines.

Yea, ive walked away from it. I just can't seem to get much information on it. Drives really well too.

The car im looking at now has Coilovers, the salesman said audi wouldnt extend the warrenty with mods. I called them and they said they would but just not on the suspension as thats where the mod was.

its quite difficult to find one with all the boxes ticked.
