Hi all,
After a long decision making process, I've got my heart set on 2012/13 RS4 and plan to go and take a look at some this week and hope to take one home.
I have done some general reading online of things to look out for (any tips welcome!) and have gathered that the potential biggest thing that could go wrong along the line is the gearbox.
I hope to keep the car for a good few years so just want to really know what I'm getting myself in for. Of course I expect a 6-7 year old car to have the odd issue to deal with and things along the way, but I wanted to get as clued up as possible on anything major.
All of the cars I'm looking at are currently on 35-50k miles.
Thanks in advance for anyone's help.
Cheers

Re: 2012/13 RS4 Buyer looking for advice!
I think the things to check are brakes and service history really. I have heard of the gearbox issues but I have not suffered from it. Mine is on 58k and it just had an engine, gearbox and rear diff service. They picked up that it need new bushes on the front upper suspension arms.
I would find the car with as many factory upgrades as possible, mine has nearly all of them.
Ceramic front brakes... apparently the discs are good for 100k.
Wing bucket seats,
Dynamic cruise,
Lane assist,
Blind spot assist,
Digital tv,
Juke box
Top speed limit increase from Audi,
Sports pack with drc and dynamic steering and 20” wheels.
Post a pic of what you end up with!

Agreed, have a look in the brochure for the cost options and you will see it’s easy to spend 8 plus grand on extras!
