2014 sat nav update

Post by Rusty Racer » Sun Jul 14, 2019 1:30 pm

So after driving across grass fields again I figured it was time for an update and duly purchased the 2019 map via a mate in TPS.

Got home, found the MMI setup menu and selected update but after numerous attempts the sd card can’t be found?

It’s looking like I now require a firmware update also as it may be the original in the car still. Has anyone else come across this, I would appreciate a recommendation for a company who knows what they are doing :D

Just over a couple of hundred iirc. Most important thing is to get your current nav details off the car and then get the correct map 😁

TPS but unsure of their current retailing policy (they might not be willing to sell to you).
Tbh it was a massive pita and I ended up back at the dealer after I had eaten a big slice of humble pie!
If you go to the dealer they should also update the firmware version and now I guess you get a 2020 map

I upgraded my firmware and maps in November using these guys with no problems:

Sensible money for the upgrade. If you follow their guide to the letter works a treat. Did take an hour or two to upload into the MMI. Adam is very helpful if you get stuck.
