375bhp 2014 RS4

Post by R55ENS » Tue Jun 04, 2019 9:35 pm

Had my car rolling roaded the other week and it made a paltry 375bhp!! :(

Would this suggest a massive carbon build up? Cars only done 46k though. Or could there be something else not right?

At the wheels or the fly?

I'm assuming it's at the fly going by what the operator told me! I'll have to check!

I had similar. Bought my 15 plate 2 years ago at just over 2 yrs old and 26K miles and down to 408bhp. Carbon clean at MRC and back to full number of horses

A 70bhp drop due to carbon, wow!
Is this due to lack of use or does it happen to them all? I see MRC want £800 for a basic clean and over a grand for the full monty?
Do you think this involves taking the heads off?

I doubt that loss in power would be down to carbon build up, more like another problem!

Never had my B7 Carbon Cleaned in 5years and that pulled like a train, same with my B8, nearly 5years and feels just as strong.

Is the carbon buildup in the B8 engine as much of an issue as with the B7? Should I be worried? :drink:

375BHP there's certainly something wrong, MRC is the answer
RS4 B7, Mugello Blue, K&W V3 & HR ARBs, set up by Centre Gravity, Milltek Valved Non Res & cat bypass pipes, BMC air filter, braided hoses, DOT 5.1, Terraclean, MRC Full Carbon Clean, MRC remap 448PS 477NM, 20" S7 alloys with 4mm spacers & Hawke spigots 66.6 > 57.1, AP Racing front discs. Sold Sept 2019. Now rocking an F80 M3

Car still pulls like a train even with only 375bhp, but yeah I'll be getting it down to MRC as soon as funds allow for them to give it a once over!! Hopefully it'll be an easy/cheap fix!! One can only hope!!
