Hi All

I have one of the few RS4's with a factory OEM exhaust (non-sports) so need more sound.

Money is tight at the moment so £2-3K on an exhaust will get me a divorce so have looked at many many options.

What I have come too is a custom built Cat to Back Box job for about £500 and i keep the flaps, what I cant find is anyone who has only removed the center section OR the Front Resonators only both on a Sports Exhaust.

Few of Questions I need help with

1. Are the non-sports back boxes the same as sports? (what is the difference removal of the centre box)
2. anyone out there done just 1 of the removing the centrebox or mid section on a standard exhaust?
3. anyone done an x-Pipe only on a standard exhaust?
4. Can people link any vids (I have searched YouTube for hours)

I don't want it ASBO loud or Drone full on the motorway just how a V8 should sound so not sure if i should do full straight through from cat to back box.

Can anyone help?

Not sure on the rs but loads of people have done x-pipe mods and baby res removal on the s. I removed the baby res on my s4 and it did give the effect you are looking for. There's loads of videos on YouTube of the s4. Lots of info on the audisrs forum.

I too have a standard exhaust but swapped out the chrome tail pipe trims in favour of the much better looking black ones. Still understanding the car but seems to make more noise in comfort mode than auto?
I did see a IEM sports exhaust on the bay but didn’t bid

Had a custom front to back box fitted.

No front resonators and small mid with H-Pipe, started out quiet but 3 weeks in and it is now about right.

Louder the sports but not silly.
