Make sure it’s actually had all the above work done. A lot of dealers will just say they’ll do it these days and lie. And I’m not kidding you either.

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
Well the RS4 was all as described so is now sitting in my garage
She is a completely different animal to the C63, but first impressions is that it is far more refined, especially the gearbox which is a great improvement over the C63s slush box....Still not used to the steering though, which I think is going to take some time...
Jobs to do:
Private plates going on today.
Needs suspension geometry sorting as the steering wheel is just off centre and pulls to the left. Supply dealer is going to pay for me to do it locally.
Full detail and Ceramic Coat.
and lastly I need to replace the tail pipes. I had initially thought they would clean up, but they are quite badly pitted so need replacing or re coating. Has anybody had any experience in replacing them? It looks like I either need to remove the rear bumper or exhaust to fit them???
Roll on 1730...

Looks great. I just bought one a couple of weeks ago in Suzuka Grey. Will be interesting to compare notes as you get to know it. Such special cars.

Are the tail pipes chrome or black?
I had mine Zircotec coated and they are lasting a lot longer than the Audi black ones.
Yes the bumper has to be removed to change them.
Here are mine after coating.

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
They look fantastic in Suzuka... I'm going to be using mine for work and I thought the Prisim Silver was the more subtle option.
The Wife tell me I spend more time in the garage than the rest of the house:-)
I have never come across Zircotec I will look into it... bit of a faff having to remove rear bumper though... is it a simple job?
First mod completed... vacume pipe removed from exhaust flaps, now its sporty all the time

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
I didn't replace mine, the dealer did them as a goodwill gesture. They did crack the bumper though! Eventually we got it sorted. In fairness they were very good at making sure it got sorted.Slartibartfast wrote:They look fantastic in Suzuka... Prism is a very expensive paint though, it has an active ingredient in it and has to be bought in already mixed. I was told £600 for 500ml, more than enough to paint a bumper. It was not a good match originally and the Glasurit rep was bought in to help.
Are your tips black (sports exhaust) or chrome?
I may be able to help as I have a spare set that I may do an exchange with yours for. Depending on how bad yours are?

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
Mine are in pretty bad shape to be honest, I have actually rubbed them down to the bear metal for now and that is an improvement! If they were a simple job to remove I would just have them refinished.
Would you consider selling the spares? I think having them chromed would be far more durable...

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
To have them chromed properly would probably be more expensive than the black Zircotec. I think they were about £100 including Vat.Slartibartfast wrote:Mine are in pretty bad shape to be honest, I have actually rubbed them down to the bear metal for now and that is an improvement! I believe it will last much longer than the chrome too.
I wouldn't want to sell them, I will keep them as spates. If yours were reasonable I may have been up for a swap, but it sounds like they are pitted?
The spare ones I have are less than a year old.

Re: Does anybody know this RS4?
Car looks great! I had an E30 M3 back in the day... wish I had kept but it made way for something else iirc. I had chrome tail pipe trims and swapped them out for black much better!

Painted mine with high-temp gloss black aerosol. Better finish and lasting better than the factory finish
