Whining noise under no acceleration

Hi all,

This noise appeared yesterday? (See videos)

It appears to happen when your NOT accelerating!

When you accelerate it appears to stop.

Happens at tick over in N/P/D!

Could it be an auxiliary belt/tensioner?

Whoops can’t add Video via app? Any ideas

Still unable to add videos,

Just heard back from my local mechanic, (left car with him last night) he’s saying there’s now no sound? I’ve asked him to run it up temp & see if it comes back?!?

Replaced PCV

Old one had a whole in the diaphragm

New one

Well, 1st thought was a pulley or aux belt issue, ended up taking the under tray etc off to see.. waste of time that was lol...

My mechanic friend of mine, followed the sound (which is a horrible sound, sounds like the worlds about to end lol) popped off the pipe from engine & hey presto no more horrible sound...

This went on mine recently, it’s a diy job if you can get the part number. Only does it when up to temp as the engine starts pulling a vacuum through the crank case

Yeah was a 2 min Job I done it myself in the end.. £140 for part iirc all good now
