Pano Roof Query

Post by Flighty » Wed Jan 30, 2019 11:59 pm

A query for the knowledgable RS4 owners of this forum:

Do any of those with the pano sun roof option find the pano sun visor to be shut on its own accord when getting into the car?

I have witnessed this on a couple of occasions now. Two of which I think I can explain however one remains a mystery...

I have witnessed the sun shade close itself when washing the car, however I think this is to do with the fact I had the key in my pocket and the water was perhaps activating the locks several times on the door handle touch sensors (I have the convenience opening and closing of windows switch on) so this one seems to makes sense.

I have also come back to the car after a hot weather spell and the sun visor has been shut on its own accord, makes some sense to keep internal temperatures down? But would like someone to confirm if this is a known feature?

And the mysterious one was the other morning after a cold spell (-4C) the pano visor had shut itself over night? I am assuming this has something to do with the cold, but unsure? Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

As ever thank you in advance,

Flighty

Never had it happen on mine. Only thing I can think of if you keep your finger on the lock button it does close all open windows and the roof so it may close the shade aswell.

Washing the car, I get same as you with locks etc. Convenience package etc.

Quirky cars. Haha.

Having the advanced key, when washing the car, it it best to pop the key in the ignition slot, purely to prevent the car from locking and unlocking, and the mirrors from opening and folding as you move around it with the leather.

Thanks for all the advice, I’ll stop trying to understand it and get used to the quirk!

I tend to leave the key in the car now whilst washing, so that I can keep the mirrors in their tilted down wash position!
