Re: Extended warranty quotes year 5
Oh...sorry about that . Trust me, I have been around the 'what would I replace it with' soooooo many times, whilst driving dealer provided diesels. Nothing competes, the closest I got was a C63 S coupe as that looks butch, the 4dr and Estate look week though and it was a bit too chintzy for me.
Better the devil you know really.

Yeah. I've bought discs from Crewe that would have 2 year warranty if fitted by Audi. But I've bought different pads and braided lines and wasn't getting taken to the cleaners for fitting.MK2Golf24v wrote:I suggest you read and understand the terms of the 3yr warranty. So still have the Audi 2yr parts warranty on those items, getting me to the 5yr mark. After that, I'll do the major component warranty version, with a small excess to keep the premium sensible. The full component price is a joke, but circa £15k for a gearbox fitted sows the seed of doubt.
With the warranties, READ the small print, the Audi extended cover is <beep>!
Balderdash.

The C63S estate facelift is the only car on my radar in this segment. They've improved the aggression of its looks but the rear arches are factory C Class. And no AWD. Haha. I just love looking at this car. It's an inexplicable car tbh.

I've had that battle before with the B7 generation. One replacement within the 2 year parts warranty and thereafter, you're on your own was their line.MK2Golf24v wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:57 pmI suggest you read and understand the terms of the 3yr warranty. Cool, so just standard RS tax then.

Re: Extended warranty quotes year 5
I get the same quotes Sam. But it reads like that I'll hopefully get an email offering cover as an extension from year 4 at the same (half) price as those quoted on the web.Surrey Sam wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 10:45 pmJust grabbed an Audi quote for me, 2014 car, 34k miles, less than 10k miles per annum.
Full component with £0 excess = Over £2k
Full component with £250 excess = £1292
Named component with £0 excess = £1415
Named component with £250 excess = £919
My warranty has just over a month to go, so hopefully Audi will write to me in the next week or so as I get within a month of it expiring
I'll pay £660 but not £1300. Undecided if I'll keep the car. Thoughts on 'downgrading' to a B9 S4 anybody?. I was thinking Golf Gti and 911 as an alternative plan

It's a very capable car. Got some body roll but the chassis is sorted. Felt very expensive inside too.
Hasn't got the drama but it's a great compromise. Sticks like glue and the torque is punchy right out the gate.
Gearbox is lazy and hesitant pulling away. Can be a bit disconcerting/dangerous. Just pull back to 'S' at junctions. Haha.

Update. 1 month to the day before the warranty expired, Audi offered me another year at the same rate. I've renewed it. About half what they had quoted online.

Re: Extended warranty quotes year 5
Just returned from an MOT and some warranty work carried out extremely professionally by Tunbridge Wells Audi.
Warranty items included:
O/S headlamp control unit
O/S/R wheel bearing and hub assembly
Camshaft adjuster
This was all completed under the Audi Approved used warranty which I received when I bought the car just under 12 months ago.
I've not yet been contacted by Audi UK about extending the warranty - as I'm extending the warranty under the Audi used approved scheme, rather than extending the standard new car warranty, does this mean my only option is to go direct to the website and pay the inflated price, or should i expect a communication from Audi to offer the better price (as some here seem to have received)?

Re: Extended warranty quotes year 5
I never had any communication from Audi being the 2nd owner. I had 10 months of the original 3 year warranty left at time of purchase. Audi Assist were in contact though to extend that cover for a 2yr deal.

Re: Extended warranty quotes year 5
I never had any contact either, my car was just over 2 years old when I got it. I asked the dealer to update me on the system as the new owner but it made no difference.
I extended the warranty online the next year it nearly halved.
