Adaptive headlight warning
Adaptive headlight warning
Hi there
I have a 2013 RS4, I purchased car in Jan 2017 and very happy with car , but last year the drivers side headlight had to be replaced as the Adaptive headlight warning came on and I was told headlight needed to be changed but this was under warranty , but now the passengers warning light has come on recently and again the Audi specialist I got the car from says the headlight needs to be replaced but now out of warranty, so its gonna cost me £930 !!
Is this a none problem with the RS4 B8 ? and any comments ?
Help !
Clive

Re: Adaptive headlight warning
well that's including fitting and re programming the headlight, headlight is around £688
I just want to know if this common Audi said they didn't sell many so maybe not , I could be just unlucky with 2 !!!

So, they're saying it was a fault with the car (the first time) and now the cost is on you? Maybe push for a contribution? Just seems extreme. Car out of warranty I take it?CliveG55 wrote:well that's including fitting and re programming the headlight, headlight is around £688

yes, car out of warranty and as I said first headlight was drivers side that went ( that went in warranty period) and now the passenger light has gone (out of warrantee) , its also due for an mot and so it may need to be done before it passes

Re: Adaptive headlight warning
I think it should pass fine as long as it covers the basic test. Adaptive is bending/turning. It's a feature but as long as it sits in the neutral position, I'd think it would be fine.CliveG55 wrote:yes, car out of warranty and as I said first headlight was drivers side that went ( that went in warranty period) and now the passenger light has gone (out of warrantee) , its also due for an mot and so it may need to be done before it passes

Re: Adaptive headlight warning
If you had your previous MOT done by Audi, you might have the protection insurance which covers upto £750.

Stupid question but have you checked the bulb is ok? This will give a warning.

Re: Adaptive headlight warning
Had same th8ng last week on my 2014 model (155,000kms now) wirh the warning being something along the lines of:
“Audi adaptive headlights: defective”
Rang the dealer service guy (good guy very helpful always) who said it was most likely just the globe, which is the common fault. On asking if I could just drop it in and five minute fix, he said just leave it till the service (having done next month) as it takes a while to get to the globe - but I don’t expect big $ fixing
It makes sense it’s the globe as it happened exactly as I turned at a t junction and the adaptive bit would have turned on and one of those instants that blew the globe
