Has anyone retrofitted the homelink? Hazzydays has it for £900 fitted but I wondered if this was diy’able. Also, does homelink have any MMI functionality - i’ve Never had it before but getting a roller garage door means I will want it!

It’s a transmitter behind the grill and a trio of buttons, behind the sun visor.
Honestly I’d not bother. It is often painful on receiver compatibility too.
No MMI features.

This is a retrofit I'm half way through. I've procured the correct roof console with switch and a transponder which goes behind the front grille rings. These have been installed but I hoped that wiring was in situ (it wasn't) so needed to order a kuftec harness, which was out of stock and I've not since looked again.
The car needs some coding, maybe some green menu tweaks, so that you can then use the MMI to programme the homelink remote to the car.

You are always one step ahead of me!
What cost do you think you are in for, all said and told. I don’t have ability to code the MMI.

Sorry about that.
I did a deal on eBay, got a Q5 roof console bit for £60 and the front transponder for £30. I then swapped the homelink buttons onto my own roof console, then removed front bumper to fit the transponder. A Kuftec harness is 49 EUR + postage so I should be under £200 when done as I already have
VCDS to code with. That said, the Hazzydays price is good as they use new parts and obviously need to charge labour.
Once I have completed the DIY and cracked the coding, then I'd happily code yours.
