Wheel Weights

Post by fivetones » Thu Aug 23, 2018 11:30 am

I’ve searched extensively on this (on the forum and internet) and not found any single source of this info so thought it would be good to start something.

RS6 C7 Standard 9.5x20 ET21 forged 13.5kg 4G0601025CD (source, Fuchsfelge.com)
RS7 Standard 9x20 ET35 forged 11.88kg 4G8601025BA
RS4 B8 Standard 9x19 ET24 forged 10.5kg (source, Fuchsfelge.com)
RS4/RS5 Rotor 9x20 ET26 ?? 14.11kg 8T0601025CP
RS4/RS5 V-Spoke 9x20 ET26 ?? 12.73kg 8T0601025CQ
A6 Rotor 8.5x20 et45 ?? 14.5kg 4G0601025BP (source, https://www.online-teile.com/volkswagen ... efeb473555)

Ok, I’ve given the game away in that I’m after the Rotor/V-Spoke weights but we could build this into a bigger list if we all contribute what we know.

Just a small point, but the RS6 20 inch wheels you are talking about above were not a winter wheel, they were the standard all seasons wheel. There was a separate winter wheel which was also 20" but it was only 8" wide and looked similar from the side except completely flat.

I know Mike hence the quotes. Many, wrongly, call them that. The 8” are plentiful too.

What should they be referred to as? I hate calling them that as it perpetuates the error.

I'd just call them the RS6 standard 20" wheel. Most people refer to them as the dished ones.

Don’t forget tyre weight too, this gets overlooked. However the standard 19’s look considerably lighter than either 20” offering. I would love to have a drive in a car with 19’s and ramics with all that saved unsprung mass!

Do you have any figures to suggest there’s a big difference between different radial 265/30x20, say?

Genuinely interested to see proof that some tyres are lighter than others.
