Should i buy a B8? EDIT: NOW BOUGHT!
Re: Should i buy a B8?
I've owned 50+ cars, till recently I had a A6 diesel estate for work and a 997 911 for fun. I chose to combine both into one and got my RS4, from the first drive I was smitten and no car has ever put as big a smile on my face. And that smile grew even more when I discovered launch control. So if you haven't guessed it from my reply, I'm trying to say just get one!

Im convinced now. Iv'e put down a deposit on one and will hopefully drive it away this Wednesday as long as the car is in a good condition and drives well. Excited!

Re: Should i buy a B8?
Is launch control any different to putting it in dynamic and flooring it from standstill? Is it an actual "mode" of the car? Are there rules on how often it should be used?Scottyr81 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 4:09 pmI've owned 50+ cars, till recently I had a A6 diesel estate for work and a 997 911 for fun. Re: Should i buy a B8?
Yes it is an actual specific “launch mode”. Car needs to be upto temp. Press and hold ESP to switch off. Switch off start/stop. Sport mode on gearbox. Hill hold off. Steering wheel must be straight. Hold foot brake down press accelerator to floor. It will rev to 3k and hold revs till you let off the brakes and hold on tight as it blasts off.Bizzo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 5:01 pmIs launch control any different to putting it in dynamic and flooring it from standstill? Yes, specific mode as described above - but you need to release brake within 5 secs, it won;t hold the revs at 3k indefinitely.Bizzo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 03, 2018 5:01 pmIs launch control any different to putting it in dynamic and flooring it from standstill? No rules written in the manual, but be warned the ECU does count how many times its been used!
Personally i find it a waste of time, just flooring it achieves nearly the same thing, without the button pressing, and time restrictions.

Re: Should i buy a B8? EDIT: NOW BOUGHT!
Cleaned the new RS4 today, picked it up Wednesday.
Phantom black, gonna be a hard colour to keep clean but i love it. In some light it looks jet black in other lights it can go green or purple.
Nice condition, low miles.
Have had a big smile on my face since i drove it home, such a beast of a car but still doubles up as a sensible family estate thats just happy to cruise.
Some features:
Adaptive Cruise control
Dynamic SteeringParking system advanced (rear camera)
Active lane assist
Bang & Olufsen sound system
Full Black Leather InteriorHeated front Seats
Sport pack
20" 5-arm Rotor alloy wheels
Gloss black styling pack
Keyless entry and starting
MMI Satellite Navigation 'Plus
Privacy Glass
Sports exhaust system
DAB digital radio

Congrats, it's a lovely colour Panther Black and very nearly tempted me back into a black car, despite saying never again. Fontain are certainly selling a few B8 RS4's.
Sepang Blue B8 RS4, MY14, All option packs, B&O, Adv Key, Adapt Cruise, Pan Roof, Akrapovic Titanium Exhaust, + more.

Lovely, I doubt very much that you will have any regrets. Mine came without folding mirrors - which pee'd me off. There are a number of places that will retrofit, depending on where you are based. I had mine done by Ash near Uxbridge. You'll be waving goodbye to £750 mind. You will also get the tilt in reverse. Tbh, unless your car has memory seats, you will probably only use it very occasionally, as it is hit or miss as to whether it returns to exactly where you had left it. Having said that, I should have used it at the weekend as I suffered a sneak attack from a kerb. Thank heavens for the AlloyGators. Anyway, enjoy the car.
