Hi Gary - it’s OEM. Just looks different perhaps because of the way the light catches. The plate looks really good - I think it makes the car look more solid - sounds silly writing it!
Just waiting for the strut brace to arrive now from the US and need to make a decision on wheels...
Velcro is on its way too... damn snail mail...
Have vetoed bulbs, and can’t find the Caliper covers anywhere - anyone know a place?

Nice one Sam, fitted my washer jets too. Nice little upgrade.

The calliper plate part number is 8K0698221A and you'll need 2. From memory I paid around £28 each from my local dealership, you could also try your nearest TPS branch. As they'll be able to order them in for you as well.

Latest fix done... boot cover rattle

Bought some cheap velcro online and affixed the loop side to both the cover and also a small strip to the indent.

Has worked perfectly

N.B. Haven’t yet decided on whether it needs trimming yet, I left it wide to cover the full width when at the top of the run. Which obviously you can see and very unlikely to drive with it in that position, so probably will....

500 miles later and I am loving the strut brace upgrade (thanks Sam for suggesting). The whole car freelanmore solid underfoot and less corner roll. I can’t attest to the better/sharper turn-in as I use dynamic steering and that already introduces variability. All-in it was an easy order, swift postage and very easy to install. Happy!

If you turn the steering to comfort and use individual to get whatever else on dynamic you can ‘feel’ more on the steering- canyon brace is just fab

Cool, glad you both have found benefit from the CR15 brace, and it wasn't just a placebo thing in my head. :thumb:

Haha - not at all. My Mrs thought it has also resulted in less road noise too, which to be honest I hadn’t noticed as I usually have the old girl on song when driving her!

Hopefully the spacers should be on next and then will pause to enjoy until the end of the summer when i’ll Think about a second set of wheels and winter tyres

P.S. I decided to not go with the Q7 speedlines, as they don’t have a concave profile and I was worried the flat look wouldn’t sit right on the car. As for the BBS speedlines, i’m Thinking about it but not convinced as yet - knowing me, i’ll End up with a set of rotors in Audi titianium to switch between with my v-spokes...)

Update:

With all this hot weather and my two year old regularly getting sweaty in her car seat (despite having the tinted windows and a/c on full blast - might need a regas) I decided to keep an eye out for the retrofit Audi sunblinds.

Low and behold a full Kit turned up last week and £80 later I have just installed them. Looks smart and has kept quite a bit of heat out already and just 1/2 day so far

My only criticism are the clips on the rear windows are unsightly when the blinds aren’t in so I might see if I can order a bag in from Audi so I can remove them for the next decade of cold weather once this unusual hot weather subsides!

Will get some pictures up later.

Any one got good advice for installing the rear Caliper plates? Going to try and tackle it this week as wife and child are vacationing.

Couple of pictures of the sun blinds. Been an absolute godsend the last few days - car much cooler even though it’s parked up in the sun at the station car park...

Finally made a decision on winter wheels and tyres.... 20” Rotors and Continental WinterContacts. 10mm spacers on. Just need to buy a different set of wheel locks as these are not compatible with the bolt caps....

V-Spokes off to be stripped and repaired - going for L8AU on those with no diamond edge for now.

Next up is black rings front and back...

Looks far better for having 20"s over winter time, 19"s look lost in the arches.

To resolve the locking wheel bolt cap issue. I cut some small strips of Velcro and packed out the inside of the cap with both hook and loop sections. I did leave the paper on the side which touch's the bolt, this made them snug and removable. Been spot on for a year
