I'm a new member in the market for an RS4 having always fancied on and test drove my second.

It's low mileage but a noise concerned me, which in fairness is going to be checked by Audi and I shall see what they say/do but I'd still like to try and find out what I can independently as I want any car I buy to be spot on.

When kicking down, a second or less after the change there was a noise which to me sounded like friction for a second. It also did it sometime when picking up from coasting.

I realised it's very hard to describe noises but can anyone shed any light on this?

Thanks. I've not bought it and whether I do would depend on the outcome with Audi. Having driven another and being reasonably mechanically minded it didn't seem right to me so was interested in whether this is something others have experience of.
