Luggage cover

Is the luggage cover for the RS4 exactly the same as the one for other A4’s?
By mistake, my car was delivered without the luggage cover and the one that they have now sent is a few inches too small to fit into the appropriate recess.
It does say ‘Avant’ on it, which (I think) rules it out of being from an A3 (which would presumably say ‘Sportback’ on it?!
They claim they took it out of an RS4 but that doesn’t appear to be credible.

Maybe it’s the wrong Variant of RS4. They may have a B5 or B7 one.

Yes, I wondered that. It does look like a new style one though.

Another one.... I had the exact same thing when I picked up my RS4 last year, The load cover was in the car when I went for a test drive, but not on collection day it had magically vanished!!
It was a joke to get it sorted the particular manager at the vindis dealership was spinning me yarns that it was a bespoke item on order blah blah etc, until I told him that I had phoned the parts department and they have them in stock but they are fooking expensive... hence why they go missing into other peoples cars!!
By all accounts this happens a lot the old rob Peter to pay Paul and hope that the next guy don't notice!!

The A3/rs3 sportback has a solid back shelf not a retractable load cover.

That's interesting, thanks. Let's see how quickly they resolve the situation.
Are the RS4 ones any different to the normal A4 covers?

All B8 avant load covers will fit, its standard part I believe, phone the parts dept for a giggle on the price

They sent me a brand new one out, its still in the box in my garage as the dogs ride in the boot, at least it will look brand new when I sell, unlike the rest of the car!

How about you swap yours (which I'll actually use) with mine (that doesn't quite fit, but which is still new)?!

I think swapping cars is a great idea.... you can have mine it just so happens to come with pull out load cover, cargo roller blind, and a dog guard just what you looking for??
I will take you incomplete low millage RS4 off your hands and do you a favour

Based on a review of part numbers, it looks like they’ve sent me a version for the B9, not the B8 that I need. It really shouldn’t have been that difficult...
