Drive Select

Post by Sidicks » Mon Mar 19, 2018 9:47 am

For the first time since I collected the car on Wednesday I’ve had a chance to play with the drive select modes etc - now that i’ve customised the individual setting with the dynamic gears and engine, the car is now much more responsive and sporty, even just on the morning commute!

Regardless of the mode you are in, a pull on the gear lever to put it into sport mode will change the gearbox and engine to dynamic modes for some instant improved throttle response and higher rev limits.

Yeah, I have everything on dynamic apart from the dampers, which I put in auto. I then permanently have DS on Individual and switch between D and S depending on how much my neighbours have irritated me. Immature? Oh yessssshhhh :FIREdevil:

Very similar to me; I'm either in full dynamic or individual with everything in dynamic except suspension that I am trialling in Auto. Then use the gear lever to switch between D and S. Generally speaking I'm in D while warming the car up then pull the lever into S as I approach a junction or roundabout which has the effect of dropping a gear or two into a more appropriate gear for pulling away and provide engine braking, as well as it gives me a more agressive throttle mapping to pull away spritely. Once back up to speed I'll slip it back into D unless I'm giving it some beans.
It doesnt make any difference to sound levels for me as my exhaust valves are disconnected so permanently open but obviously it gives more pops and crackles when in Sport.

So this is pretty much the same as me. But recently I’ve been trying to get the flappy paddles working more as even on sport mine doesn’t give me the right level of control for cornering.

Also, I’ve got the JC Weld exhaust and they’ve coded it so when I put it to S it opens the exhaust. So I get D for sensible and S for loud and stupid.
