Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Needs the fault codes read but potentially a mechatronic issue. Other Audi S-tronic cars like S4's suffered from a PCB failure in that unit.
Not seen an RS with that problem though until today, with your post & ironically a car I viewed with someone today. That one had a bunch of fault codes with one being a gearbox communication malfunction which points towards this failing PCB.

Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
I had notice the car had been doing some really odd gear changes. Very delayed. And 1 to 2 is very jerkySurrey Sam wrote:Needs the fault codes read but potentially a mechatronic issue. Other Audi S-tronic cars like S4's suffered from a PCB failure in that unit.

Ok, yes sounds like it's not happy.
Have you had the gearbox serviced at the correct intervals? Any warranty?

Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Will be interested to see how this turn out, keep us updated here.
With Audi Warranty you should get Audi Roadside Assist, so call them out and they'll check for codes etc and if needed. Get the car recovered to the Dealer and sort a loan car.

Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Don't be. You have warranty and servicing all in check.
Thing you should be more worried about, is having to drive around in a mundane diesel for a few days.

Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Had this on my S4 inside warranty and as Sam says a PCB fault. Later the mechatronic failed. Jerk gear changes, esp 2nd to 1st. Felt like the car had been nudged up the back each time

When they check the codes, make sure they don't delete them! If they do, the car will have to be driven to get the codes to reappear before a proper diagnosis can be made. I have heard of recovery agents on behalf of Audi Assist doing this which causes delays in the workshop until the fault codes reappear.

If you get it to dealer it is then their responsibility to put you in a car which could be difficult if they don’t have any!

Re: GEAR BOX ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHH
Gearbox issues in these are crazy. No way I’d run one of these without warranty
