Car Cover

Post by Sammyb349 » Sat Nov 04, 2017 12:59 pm

I’ve just sold up and moving into a rental which has a number of trees overhanging the driveway. So as to not have the car get covered in tree sap and leaf debris I was thinking of a car cover.

Any suggestions?

You get what you pay for really. It needs to be breathable so the car doesn't 'sweat' with changes of temperature, obviously waterproof, but probably most importantly, it needs to have a soft lining and tight fitting so that the cover doesn't move with the wind, and abrade the paint surface.
Using a car cover would probably be my last thought until every other possibility had been exhausted.

Okay. Have you got any good ones to recommend - I can’t find a dedicated one for the B8 RS4...

Also what other possibilities do I have I can’t cut the trees down or build a garage...

Wash it and protect it lots. Car cover will be a PITA to store when wet, and if not kept immaculate will scratch your paint, and can only be used on a clean car as the dirt will act as an abrasive

I am abroad during the week so twice a week is not an option cover on a clean car is. Regarding immaculate, this car is. Doesn’t have a single mark or swirl on it.

If there are no covers that fit the car or if no one can recommend I’ll probably sell up as the tree sap will destroy it over time.

The Stormforce & Monsoon are very good outdoor covers.
