Been over a week now & my EPC issue is gone, as mentioned it happened on cold starts, with it being below freezing for the past 2 days, Car was parked up for 3 or so days, started this evening & not a single issue..

MRC as always worked their magic...

Issue has long gone

HI, I experienced this over the last few days. 6000 RPM message, then EML today followed by a five minute visit to the central reservation on the A329M today. Luckily I managed to get the car off the road, to a car park.

The AA came out and recorded the following:

Patrol found the following fault code/s:System : Engine control 1 - VMY / Motronic MED 17.1.1 UDSP019100 - Fuel high-pressure sensor. Error Message : Signal improbable.P019200 - Fuel high-pressure sensor. Error Message : Short to ground.P017500 - Fuel system - Bank 2. Error Message : Mixture too rich.P017200 - Fuel system - Bank 1. Error Message : Mixture too rich.Patrol carried out the following special function/s:Adjustments / settings Read fault codes fault with high pressure fuel requires taking to garge under warranty

Any experience of this? The patrol cleared the EML light, presumably the codes and it started up fine. Hopefully it won't come back!

Sorry to be repetitive but i have a regular EPC max 6000rpm on my car when cold between 2 -5 minutes after starting, if i start from warm i never get this error
Can anyone confirm the correct path to rectify this error?
thanks

Hi All,
Currently running a B8 RS4 for two years now with no real issues.
Today, for the second time in a week, a fault has shown: "Do not exceed 6,000 rpm" and also the EPC light comes on. The manual says that engine speed should not be exceeded when cold but to take to a dealer if the EPC light comes on. On the first occasion, I inadvertently did hit the limiter when stationary when changing from auto to manual at zero road speed, and I suspect that this caused the warning light some moments later.
This time though, although the vehicle was cold and the heated seats and a/c were running, the warning came on after about 5 minutes of running, and nowhere near 6,000 rpm hit. After oil temp was fine, then both warnings (inc EPC) went away.
Has anyone else experienced this, or does it mean a visit to the dealer to investigate...?
Cheers.
Hello buddy sounds exactly like a problem ive had in the past and still now, my car has been diagnosed and the first time came up with cam shaft speed sensor fault on bank 1, i had it replaced and it was fine for a while but then it came back, and its since been diagnosed with the same fault by the current garage i use but he said the sensors should always be replaced in pairs which is probably why the fault has come back, i will get it in to get sorted soon but as it doesnt effect the performance it doesnt bother me much. Every time i drive from cold within t mins the warning light comes on but then once the engine is warm and its been switched off it never comes back until the next day when cold again.

Have you checked Battery voltage. I was having a few errors come up, fully charged battery car has been good as gold.

Check all the connections too, if it persists then you have a problem!
