Adaptive light defective

Post by Moonmonkey831 » Fri Aug 11, 2017 2:55 pm

Hi,

Error on dash came up saying Adaptive light defective. Has gone into Audi today and they have confirmed a cornering light has blown (which is quite misleading considering the error displayed). They are quoting £110 quid to replace. I'm assuming this won't be covered under warranty?

Thanks!

Seems common, they charged me £45 to change the bulb from memory?

The bulb can be changed just like an other, its the bulb pointing sideways in the headlight cluster. Its this part that makes them specific to the b8.5 RS4/5 as no fogs/driving lights in the lower bumper.

Sorry to revive this thread. Same error has just come up on my car. Couple of questions:

Does anyone know the bulb size for the cornering bulb?
And does the front bumper have to come off to remove headlight?

They are an h7 bulb and easy to change - it is possible with the headlight in situ if you have small hands or it's only 5 bolts to remove the headlight once the plastic cowl is off - I purchased Philips diamond bison as they are white to match the hids/xenon headlights - link below no affiiliation blah blah https://www.powerbulbs.com/product/diam ... -twin-pack

If you are London based happy to meet and give you a hand. If you are feeling flush I changed my hid bulbs to the new Philips extreme vision gen 2s and they are a good upgrade - brighter and better throw

Thanks for your offer. I’ve ordered those bulbs and should arrive Friday. I’ll be ok fitting. Although I have never noticed those bulbs in the headlight.

Can anyone explain or attach a photo on the placement for those?
