Thinking of moving to an RS6.....

Current have a Sepang Blue RS4 - March 2015 48K miles regularly serviced. Its in good condition, but not pristine with the usual stone chips and some marks to the leather on the rear seat. DRC, Pano roof, B&O Sound, 20" Vspokes, Dynamic Cruise and the lane thingy. Stealers have said 30K trade in against a demo year old RS6 - was pretty staggered TBH as I thought it would be worth closer to 40K. Which of us is dreaming do you think ?
I need a bigger boot for the dogs - we've just 1 right now, but will be getting a second!....I know its excessive to change your car to accommodate a dog! But the boot looks way bigger, and I miss the performance from my Subaru CS400, so figured the RS6 might hit the spot. Have seriously loved the RS4 though.

I'm on 61k with out the pano roof, mine is pristine with no stone chips or alloy damage (roars), 2013 (63 reg) and i got offered 27k
The RS6 is a different monster compared to the RS4. In fact, it makes the RS4 feel slow but that will be the turbos. the exhaust burble is also very addictive. But having had one for a few hours this weekend, it didn't make me want to spend the extra right now. Its a very very fast car, with a bigger boot, but i;ve got two labs and they have plenty of room so it comes down to personal preference.
I'm still tempted but for now i'm very happy in the RS4, only reaffirmed by the RS6 test drive).

I'm hoping to get a test drive tomorrow or Wednesday if I can and i'll try and decide. I wanted an extended overnight test, which is something I did when I got the RS4, but the dealer said i could not in the one they have as its not taxed, and to get one in would cost them (and consequently me) £400, refundable if I didnt buy. They arent exactly trying hard to sell these things.....
Dog wise we have a Belgian Shepherd (soon to have 2!) - but he travels in a Safedog Crate - crash tested lockable, and that takes up a chunk of space....

True say, got a sausage dog then you'll have loads of room..
Oh, and re the test drive.. Don't forget to smile after you plant the right foot.. After the 'oh <beep> thats fast' moment that comes first of course lol..

I think dealers only allow unaccompanied test drives on cars they have on as demos. Recently had an Ftype 400 sport unaccompanied but they wouldn't allow me to have the V8 as it was a sale car and therefor not taxed. Makes sense to be honest.

CAP clean is £33.5k, so, adjusted for your milage but with the nice options added, I think £34-35k would be a fair trade-in price. But, the margin on the RS6 will be huge, so you should look at cost to change rather than one end or the other of the deal. Get your cake, and eat it.

I have done similar, I have a 2014 RS4 with pretty much all the options and it's done 26k, I've been offered £37k against a brand new RS6PE with a healthy discount, I took the plunge in June and my new car is currently on it's way from Germany. My dealer gave me a full day in the car at their own expense (Audi charge them £400), I'd respectfully suggest you find another dealer.

Foxy, would you mind PMing me what the discount was please?
Just put my 2015 RS4 with 26k miles into WBAC and its come out at 37k.

Audi gave me 38k for my 63 reg, 30k. It was mint and well specced. I have a C7 and the boot is way bigger! Much better built too.

You do realise they didn't actually give you £38k for it?!? A lot of the money they gave you over 'book' would have been taken from the huge margin they had in the C7/RS6 you bought.

Exactly this, I got offered 33k as a rough estimate and it went to £36500 while discussing figures and it all came down to margins on the new car.
As long as you get a decent deal thats all that matters though.

No need to PM, the car listed at £94k and with contributions the price came down to £82k. My RS4 is actually a 2015 car, my error and apologies if I've misled anyone.

Test drive arranged on Sat - looks like a decent spec on the 6 - Ceramic disks, Performance pack, and Sepang blue, so i'm hoping most people wont notice i've changed! It is all about the total deal so it will be interesting to see what they offer. Looks like it was an Audi Press car - now, this might mean its been shagged to death though......!

KP16 VWE?
- First registered 6th April 2016
- Apr 6st 2017 it was taken off the road and registered SORN
- Put on sale 8th of April at £87,850, various reductions between then and now where it's £73,850.
Just like OU/OY/O* cars, KT/KP/K* cars are generally high-spec ex-Audi press cars, handed out by Audi UK Press to the motoring press for testing. KP16 VWE was one of the first, given out to Pistonheads (
https://www.pistonheads.com/road-tests/ ... view/34634), WhatCar (
https://www.whatcar.com/news/2016-audi- ... ce-review/) Lincs Business (
http://lincsbusiness.co/2016/12/audi-rs ... introvert/)
I'm pretty sure KP16 VWE is also RMD 750 which was in AutoCar, Chris Evan's review etc.
In short, it's had a hard life, and unless it's priced very keenly i'd be looking at the many others on the market. Don't let the CCB's sway you.

As you say there are plenty of sepangs around at the mo, most with full leather too !
