Hi Guys, parking the car last night the parking switch started flashing and a long beep, no rear camera or lines and in MMI the system is greyed out, any ideas? Car is under warranty but hate the dealers touching it

Unless you have
VCDS software and a cable, there is no way to tell what is up with it. There will be a fault code logged, so it's just a case of reading that and going from there I'm afraid. Most likely a component failure such as a sensor, the control unit then disables the whole system.
Good luck with it and be sure to report back what they do to fix the problem.

I had exactly the same issue fixed recently.
The problem was due to a faulty front sensor that later failed. Once replaced.. All sorted

Don't think that will work on an RS4. Book it in to Audi and make sure they give you an S4 for loan

To reset MMI press and hold simultaneously:
Menu
Centre Button
Top Right Button
But this may only do the same as if turning off car and leaving for something like 15 mins.
Dealer's really helpful techo mechanic told me this after applying it when my phone/MMI froze.
It works

Reset does a hard reset which is more than turning the car off. Also, Carista will give you fault codes at a far cheaper cost of
VCDS, if you want to fix it and make changes then
VCDS will probably be required.

Thanks for the advice - car went to Audi and one rear parking sensors replaced and systems reconfigured. Odd that a single sensor takes out the rear camera!

its for safety.. if the system just worked (bar the faulty sensor) and you hit something, i guess Audi think you'd be taking aim at them for the repair.

Ok thanks - you would have thought an error message could be put up and some incessant beeping to cover the liability. Anyway onwards and upwards !

Geoffdunk - just got Carista to change some things and can’t find this one on the app, can you point me in the right direction for this and any other good suggestions?
